HOATT - Empowering Communities

The Homeowners Association of Trinidad and Tobago provides a free, safe, secure digital platform that is focused on addressing the needs of private homeowners and residents. It does this by empowering Communities, NGOs and Government Agencies to communicate more effectively. All your data and information here is private by default.ence.

Who is HOATT?

The Homeowners Association of Trinidad and Tobago is more than an association; it’s a movement to safeguard and improve the quality of life for all citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. HOATT is an NGO formed to empower homeowners, residents and entire communities, of Trinidad and Tobago to collaborate with government agencies and NGOs on issues like crime, pollution, community development and infrastructural upgrades.

What is HOATT?

HOATT is a team of volunteers from across Trinidad and Tobago who have our country’s best interest at heart. A country is its people, and as such HOATT was formed to help and elevate the quality of life and standard of living for every homeowner and resident of Trinidad and Tobago.

Our team of volunteers span all sectors of the country and hails from every walk of life with the same vision: to bridge the gaps that exist between our communities and the state. We are here to administratively consolidate, elevate and champion the major issues and concerns of all our members. To facilitate this we built a free, safe, secure digital platform where your information is always private by default.

You can interact with state agencies and your street/community members in locked private groups and via secure messaging. You can also lend your voice to public discussions, post news and updates and be a part of national projects. The choice is yours and the power is in your hands.

How HOATT Works

Registration, services and membership are free and HOATT works in two major ways:

1) We facilitate secure, private, virtual groups and forums where homeowners and residents can share ideas and execute projects. Eg. A street chat. The utility of these groups creates advantages such as proper record/log keeping and file sharing while simultaneously addressing the disadvantages associated with popular messaging apps. Eg. privacy invasion, excessive notifications, and phone storage issues. In addition to being private and secure, groups can also be unlisted/hidden. Groups are tiered in functionality, design and varying levels of privacy to also include state agencies and representatives. Eg. A councillor interacting with his/her constituents or a local police station receiving updates from nearby communities. Separate larger groups will facilitate workspaces and discussions on a town/province and national level, complete with file-sharing features. Video conferencing and Zoom features are included on our roadmap.

2) HOATT also works by administratively consolidating, elevating and championing the major issues and concerns of its members via the direct engagement of relevant authorities. By being an agent of communication and through innovative processes, we hope to enhance existing solutions as well as conceptualize new ones, as we work together with both residents and the state. We are a non-profit organization currently run by volunteers from Trinidad and Tobago with technical support from international partners. Both our administrative and technical roadmaps are long and constantly evolving. However, together we will chart a course to move Trinidad and Tobago forward with projects and stewardship that will shape the future.

Our Vision

HOATT aims to bridge the gap between communities and the state. We want to create a mutually beneficial synergy that ensures a proper quality of life for all homeowners and residents of Trinidad and Tobago, while simultaneously inspiring confidence in the state.

Our Mission

HOATT aims to empower communities of Trinidad and Tobago in two ways.

1) By facilitating secure, private, virtual communication platforms among homeowners, residents, NGOs and state agencies.

2) By administratively consolidating, elevating and championing the major issues and concerns of its members. We bring these issues and concerns to the relevant authorities and stakeholders with the hope of enhancing existing solutions as well as conceptualizing new ones.
