HOATT - Empowering Communities
The Homeowners Association of Trinidad and Tobago provides a free, safe, secure digital platform that is focused on addressing the needs of private homeowners and residents. It does this by empowering Communities, NGOs and Government Agencies to communicate more effectively. All your data and information here is private by default.ence.
Who Is HOATT?
The Homeowners Association of Trinidad and Tobago is more than an association. It is a civic movement dedicated to safeguarding and improving the quality of life for homeowners and residents across Trinidad and Tobago. HOATT is a non-governmental, non-profit organization formed to empower individuals, communities, NGOs, and Government Agencies to collaborate on issues such as crime prevention, pollution, community development, and infrastructure improvement.
What Is HOATT?
HOATT is powered by a team of volunteers from across Trinidad and Tobago, representing diverse sectors and backgrounds, united by a shared commitment to national progress. We believe that a country is defined by its people, and HOATT exists to elevate the standard of living for homeowners and residents by bridging the gaps between communities and the state.
To support this mission, HOATT provides a free, safe, and secure digital platform where member information is private by default. Members can communicate within verified, locked private groups, engage with relevant authorities, participate in public discussions, share updates, and contribute to national initiatives. Participation level and visibility remain firmly under the user’s control.
How HOATT Works
HOATT membership and services are free and operate through two primary mechanisms:
1. Secure Community Groups and Forums
HOATT facilitates private, virtual groups where homeowners and residents can collaborate, share information, and execute projects, such as street-level or community discussions. These groups provide structured advantages including record keeping, file sharing, and moderated participation, while avoiding common drawbacks of popular messaging apps such as privacy concerns, excessive notifications, and device storage limitations.
Groups may be private, restricted, or hidden, and are tiered to support interaction with Government Agencies and representatives, such as councillors or local police stations. Larger groups enable town, regional, and national collaboration. Video conferencing and expanded collaboration tools are included in the platform roadmap.
2. Issue Consolidation and Advocacy
HOATT also operates by administratively consolidating, elevating, and championing the major issues raised by its members through structured engagement with relevant authorities. Acting as a communication conduit, HOATT seeks to enhance existing solutions and develop new approaches through collaboration between residents, communities, and the state.
HOATT is a non-profit organization currently run by volunteers in Trinidad and Tobago, with technical support from international partners. Our administrative and technical roadmaps continue to evolve as we work collectively toward long-term national development and stewardship.
Governance and Neutrality
HOATT is a private, apolitical platform for verified homeowners and residents of Trinidad and Tobago. It is not a social network and maintains no affiliation with any political party.
Our Vision
HOATT envisions a Trinidad and Tobago where communities and the state work in synergy to ensure a high quality of life for homeowners and residents, while fostering trust and confidence in public institutions.
Our Mission
HOATT’s mission is to empower communities across Trinidad and Tobago by bridging the gap between homeowners and the state. Through secure digital channels, both private and public, we connect residents, Government Agencies, and organizations to enable effective communication and collaboration. By amplifying community voices and directing concerns to the appropriate authorities, we strengthen existing solutions, encourage innovation, and build safer, stronger, and more connected communities nationwide.
Our Digital Platform
HOATT groups provide structured spaces to bring together talent, ideas, and resources to support or launch community projects. Groups may be private or public, depending on their purpose, and can be configured with file sharing, forums, newsfeeds, and productivity tools. At present, group creation and advanced features are set up in coordination with the HOATT team.
