The Homeowners Association of Trinidad and Tobago (HOATT)

The Homeowners Association of Trinidad and Tobago is more than than an association, it’s a movement. A movement to safeguard and improve the quality of life for all citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.

HOATT empowers homeowners, residents and by extension communities, to collaborate with government agencies and NGOs on issues like crime, pollution, community development and infrastructural upgrades.

We have built a free, safe, secure digital platform where your information is always private by default. You can interact with state agencies and members of your own street/community in locked private groups and via secure messaging.

You can also lend your voice to public discussions, post news and updates and be a part of national projects. The choice is yours and the power is in your hands. Registration, services and membership are free.

HOATT works in two major ways:

1) We facilitate secure, private, virtual groups and forums where homeowners and residents can share ideas and execute projects. Eg. A street chat.

The utility of these groups creates advantages such as proper record/log keeping and file sharing while simultaneously addressing the disadvantages associated with popular messaging apps. Eg. privacy invasion, excessive notifications, and phone storage issues.

In addition to being private and secure, groups can also be unlisted/hidden.

Groups are tiered in functionality, design and varying levels of privacy to also include state agencies and representatives. Eg. A councillor interacting with his/her constituents or a local police station recieving updates from nearby communities.

Separate larger groups will facilitate workspaces and discussions on a town/province and national level, complete with file sharing features.

Video conferencing and Zoom features are included on our roadmap.

2) HOATT also works by administratively consolidating, elevating and championing the major issues and concerns of its members via the direct engagement of relevant authorities.

By being an agent of communication and through innovative process, we hope to enhance existing solutions as well as conceptualize new ones, as we work together with both residents and the state.

We are a non-profit organization currently run by volunteers of Trinidad and Tobago with technical support from international partners. Both our administrative and technical roadmaps are long and constantly evolving. However, together we will chart a course to move Trinidad and Tobago forward with projects and stewardship that will shape the future.
